Five stores open at Sawmill Station

MORTON GROVE - Sawmill Station, a joint venture development by Oak Brook-based Kensington Development Partners and IM Properties, is moving closer to completion with the opening of five stores and an additional three anchors soon to be open in the near future.

Also still under construction are The Residences at Sawmill Station, a 250-unit, urban-style apartment complex overlook a neighboring Cook County Forest Preserve and walkable to the amenities provided within Sawmill Station.

Among the retailers who are now open for business include Kohl's, Dollar Tree, Starbucks, Aspen Dental and Raising Canes. Soon to be open retailers include Ross, a grocery store and Cooper's Hawk.

The 26-acre redevelopment project is located at the southeast corner of Dempster Street and Waukegan Road.

"Our tenants at Sawmill Station are a great representation of the leaders of the retail and restaurant industry," says John Schoditsch, a principal with Kensington Development Partners. "These businesses adapted to challenges and ultimately thrived during this economically demanding past year. We are excited for them to anchor and prosper in this modern retail and dining mixed-use center."
