Lavelle Law plans two events for small businesses

SCHAUMBURG - Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law is planning two events in May for local small businesses and entrepreneurs. The first is part of its quarterly Breakfast Briefs series and the second is an event with the Schaumburg Business Association.

The free Breakfast Briefs event, "Cybersecurity & Safeguards for Small Businesses," takes place from 8 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 5. The event will be held at 1933 N. Meacham Road, Suite 127, in Schaumburg, but a Zoom link will be provided for those not comfortable attending in person and for overflow registrants. Attorneys will provide businesses with guidance on how to safeguard against cybercrime and offer strategies for minimizing the liabilities that could result from a cyberattack.

Registration and face masks are required, and the in-person event will be limited to 25 people in order to adhere to CDC and Illinois COVID-19 safety guidelines. To register, contact Erin Bowers at ebowers@lavellelaw.com.

The virtual presentation "Toolkit to Elevate Your Business" is part of the Schaumburg Business Association's Good Morning Schaumburg. The event will take place over Zoom 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 11.

During this presentation, learn how to choose the correct entity for your new business, as well as how to structure the relationships among the entity and its owners through the use of shareholder and operating agreements.

Registration for this event is required through the Schaumburg Business Association.
