Suburban contractors awarded tollway work

DOWNERS GROVE - The Illinois Tollway board of directors approved four construction and professional engineering services contracts this week totaling nearly $30.2 million at its May meeting.

Two suburban contractors were among those awarded projects.

Western Remac Inc. in Woodridge received a $1.5 million contract for toll plaza improvements on I-90. Cardinal State in Lake in the Hills received a $607,779 contract for landscaping improvements along the I-355 tollway between Roosevelt Road and Army Trail Road.

In addition, a $999,735 contract was awarded to Natural Creations Landscaping in Joliet for landscaping improvements along I-355 between Ogden Avenue and Roosevelt Road.

Nearly $127 million in contracts has been approved by the Tollway board in 2021 as part of the tenth year of the Tollway's 15-year, $14 billion Move Illinois capital program.
