Ambulnz launches dialysis transportation service in Illinois
A New York company said it is expanding into Illinois to provide transportation for dialysis patients at nine Fresenius Kidney Care centers, with plans to expand coverage to an additional 50 Chicago-area clinics in the coming months.
Ambulnz Holdings LLC, doing business as DocGo, announced a merger with Motion Acquisition Corp. and a partnership with Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc. to offer medical transportation for dialysis patients to and from their homes, rehabilitation facilities and senior living centers.
An estimated 15% of U.S. adults have chronic kidney disease, the latter stages of which require weekly dialysis treatment to survive. Ambulnz will assist people getting to and from scheduled dialysis appointments, the company said.
"The expansion into Illinois demonstrates our continued commitment to elevate the patient experience," said Kelly Adair, vice president of operations at Ambulnz.
In addition to Illinois, DocGo companies provide medical transport services in New York, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado and Wisconsin, as well as the United Kingdom.
