SigmaTron International names new president

ELK GROVE VILLAGE - SigmaTron International Inc., an electronic manufacturing services company, Wednesday appointed James E. Barnes as president of the company, effective immediately.

Barnes will succeed Gary R. Fairhead, who will remain chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

Barnes has been with the company since 2004 and has risen through the ranks, most recently holding the position of executive vice president, Operations and Global Accounts. His experience at SigmaTron has ranged from manufacturing operations to program management to business development.

"This was an important next step for the Company as it executes its strategic vision," Fairhead said.

SigmaTron International Inc. manufactures printed circuit board assemblies and completely assembled electronic products.

Barnes graduated with a degree in business administration from Illinois State University in 2004 and a master's in business administration with a focus on in operations management from DePaul University in 2010.
