Transport company breaks ground in West Dundee

WEST DUNDEE - Chicago-based The Opus Group said it has started construction on a build-to-suit industrial building for Chicago Logistic Service at Oakview Corporate Park in West Dundee.

This is Opus' ninth project in Oakview Corporate Park, following the recent completions of buildings for Helukabel, Renishaw and WEN Power Tools.

"The transportation sector has shown a lot of potential for growth; therefore, we want to expand the services we currently have available, along with bringing in more workers," said Ken Santowski, president of Chicago Logistic Service. "Opus has successfully delivered countless times to the other operations located in the business park. We are confident through our partnership that Opus will be able meet our production goals."

The 49,984-square-foot building will feature 10 dock doors, two drive-in doors, 15 trailer stalls, 39 parking stalls, and 28-foot clear height. Additionally, the building will include 2,900 square feet of office build-out and the capability to expand to an additional 40,000 square feet.

The project is slated for completion in July 2022.

"We're excited to work with Chicago Logistic Service on this project and bring their vision for a new facility to life," said Jim Caesar, regional vice president of construction for Opus. "Our experienced integrated team looks forward to delivering the final building in Oakview Corporate Park."
