Convergint partners with Canadian group

SCHAUMBURG - Convergint Monday announced a new joint venture with Chard Metis Dene Inc., an economic development entity for the Chard Metis Community Association.

The association, located south of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, is dedicated to prioritizing the traditions and culture of the Chard Metis Indigenous people.

Convergint's venture with CMD will be the first Indigenous partnership of its kind to provide electronic security systems and other technologies, the company said. Convergint designs, installs and maintains fire and life safety systems, communications, financial safety systems, health care technologies, building automation, facility efficiency and mechanical solutions.

The Schaumburg-based security company will work with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, as well as other federal, provincial and municipal clients. Additionally, Convergint remains committed to bringing technology training and employment opportunities to the community, resulting in new skill development and growth, the company said.

"It is an honor to be selected as one of CMD's first technology partners," Convergint Director Peter Brown said. "We stand by our commitment to create new partnerships and actively participate in the communities we serve - creating job opportunities and benefiting from the diversity of culture, thought and experience."
