ITW completes acquisition of MTS' simulations business

GLENVIEW - Illinois Tool Works Inc. Wednesday said it has completed the acquisition of the MTS testing and simulation business from Connecticut-based Amphenol Corp.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In January, ITW announced it would buy MTW's testing and simulation business once Amphenol completed its acquisition of parent company MTS Systems Corp. Its testing and simulation solutions are used in the aerospace, automotive, civil engineering and other industries.

At the time the acquisition was first announced, E. Scott Santi, ITW's chairman and CEO, said the business was highly complementary to ITW's existing Test & Measurement and Electronics business.

ITW is a global, multi-industrial manufacturing company with revenues totaling $12.6 billion in 2020. The company owns businesses in seven industry segments, with 43,000 employees around the world.
