2017: Toast New Year's Eve at these suburban spots

Do you have plans yet to ring in the New Year 2017? If not, here are some ideas of suburban restaurants and clubs hosting New Year's Eve parties and New Year's Day brunches. Don't delay making those reservations though.

Celebrate at Bahama Breeze's New Year's Eve Junkanoo Jam featuring live music and giveaways starting at 9 p.m. Sip on cocktails like the Gombay Smash, Painkiller, Yuka Hula Hickey Dula, Zombie and Dark 'N Stormy starting at $2.18 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The New Year's Day Recovery features the “What a Bloody Mary” starting at $7.99 all day on Jan. 1.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the New Year's Eve menu includes a choice of bourbon-glazed chicken, filet of tenderloin or shrimp boursin pasta, plus salad, bread and a stout brownie. The comedy show, which starts at 8:45 p.m., will feature host Paul Shafer along with the Chicago Comedy All-Stars and Bill Gorgo, James Wesley Jackson and Jimmy McHugh. Tickets cost $65 and include dinner, the show, nonalcoholic drinks, tip and gratuity. Seating in the Tap Room is limited to 60 people. Reservations required.

There will be three seatings: 5/5:30 p.m. and 7:30/8 p.m. cost $65, while the 10/10:30 p.m. seating is $75 and includes a midnight champagne toast. Beverages, tax and tip not included. The menu includes tuna tartare or roasted quail, seared scallops or dry-aged strip steak, and chocolate financier, lemon tart or almond eclair. Reservations are required.

Starting at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, TIMELESS returns to the Grand Ballroom featuring “The Rat Pack is Back,” which comprises Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin impersonators backed by a 15-piece big band.
