Public hearing Sept. 6 on Tri-County Access Project

The Illinois tollway will host a public open house Sept. 6 in Kildeer to provide information on efforts to ease traffic congestion in Lake County - including a long-standing proposal to extend Route 53 - now known as the Tri-County Access Project.

The open house will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at Concorde Banquets, 20922 N. Rand Road. It is the second public open house meeting as part of an effort to provide opportunities for all interested parties to learn about and provide input on the project.

In addition to viewing informational displays and a video, members of the public can ask questions and provide input on transportation priorities. The input will assist in the Tri-County Access Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process which formally began July 16.

Information and updates about the Tri-County Access Project can be viewed online at tricountyaccess.org. Public comments also cab be shared at any time via the project website or by email at info@tricountyaccess.org.
