Watch: Knights go 'Medieval' on leftover Halloween pumpkins

While many may simply be dumping their used Halloween pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns in the trash this week, a few in Schaumburg Monday went absolutely medieval on the squash.

Knights at the Medieval Times castle observed National Pumpkin Destruction Day by attacking the autumnal orange fruit with the 14th-century weapons normally reserved for the jousting done during shows.

The guest cast of Monday's outdoor performance was donated by Goebbert's Farm & Garden Center in nearby South Barrington, as well as Medieval Times fans who wanted to dispose of their own leftover pumpkins in spectacular fashion.
