Schaumburg Golf Club manager wins Illinois PGA award

The Illinois Professional Golfers' Association Section has recognized Schaumburg Golf Club General Manager of Golf Operations Jonathan Parsons for his work to promote the sport.

Each year, the Illinois PGA honors standout golf professionals in multiple categories. The organization has more than 840 members in northern and central Illinois.

Parsons won the Merchandiser of the Year award, which goes to a PGA professional who has excelled in the promotion of golf.

"I am very honored to win this award. It's a great feeling to be recognized by your peers," Parsons said. "Special thanks to all of the staff at Schaumburg Golf Club who contributed to receiving this award, it really is a team effort."

Schaumburg Golf Club is a 27-hole championship course owned and operated by the Schaumburg Park District.
