Mount Prospect Montessori school moving

Park View Montessori, which has been providing care for children aged 6 weeks through 6 years in Mount Prospect since 1976, is moving to a new home.

Mount Prospect trustees voted to allow Park View, whose lease with River Trails School District 26 had expired, to open an 11,409-square-foot daycare center in a space formerly occupied by Alexian Brothers in the Golf Plaza II Shopping Center.

The daycare center, operated by David and Susan Petkovich, will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and serve between 115 and 125 children. Mount Prospect Community Development Director William Cooney said the school will slice the existing space into various classrooms and install an outdoor play area.

"We're happy that we get to stay in Mount Prospect," center representative Kelly Behn told trustees at Tuesday's meeting.
