A town hall meeting to present the proposed redevelopment plans for Hawthorn Mall will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, inside the vacant Carson Pirie Scott store in the mall north of Route 60 and east of Route 21. The meeting will be hosted by mall owner Centennial Real Estate Co. and the village. Artists renderings of proposed improvements are online as part of the village review process. Information on financing and more can be viewed at the Hawthorn 2.0 site on the village website, https://www.vernonhills.org/. Information will be updated throughout the lengthy process. The town hall will serve as a special village board meeting. The next regular village board meeting is at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive.
