Sullivan Roofing Wins Award for New Zurich HQ

SCHAUMBURG - Sika Sarnafil named Sullivan Roofing first place winner of the Sika Sarnafil 2016 Project of the Year for Sustainability for the company's work on the new Zurich North American Headquarters in Schaumburg.

The 783,000 square foot corporate campus is at the corner of Meacham Road and Interstate 90, on 40 acres of native landscape. The building has been awarded the LEED Platinum Certified designation for its environmental design and sustainability initiatives.

Sika Sarnafil was the manufacturer of choice for Sullivan Roofing. The building's unique overall design had a complex mixture of roof systems, details, waterproofing, pavers and green roof modules. The complexity of the project, uniqueness, sustainable design, and green roof system inspired creativity and collaborative problem solving to overcome some unique challenges stemming from the diverse line of products used to complete the project.

The systems include conventional fully adhered PVC membrane over coverboard, inverted roof membrane waterproofing assemblies with Hanover pavers and Live Roof green roof modules, as well as ILD EFVM leak detection at sixteen (16) different locations, from the ground all the way to the 12th floor penthouse roof.
