Springfield hotels complete renovations
The Crowne Plaza Springfield has completed an extensive renovation of all 288 guest rooms, suites, public areas and meeting rooms. The property is one of the first Crowne Plaza's to offer a new-age guest room featuring the "worklife" concept. This next generation guest room is designed to meet the changing needs of today's modern business traveler. Similar to the "working triangle" of a chef's kitchen, the concept allows guests to move freely between three key areas - a cocooned bed, flexible "nook" and streamlined workspace.
The guest room layout now features an angled bed with a padded, curved headboard and insulated wall panels on each side of the room that helps reduce noise levels, contributing to a better sleep. The nook area offers a multipurpose and comfortable space to hold informal meetings, doubling as an area to socialize and relax away from the traditional workspace.
"Our new 'worklife' rooms provide guests with a mix of comfort, connectivity and flexibility," said General Manager Alan Filer. "Our newly renovated property is perfect for modern travelers blending business with leisure."
Known as the premier convention hotel in Central Illinois, the Crowne Plaza Springfield offers more than 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space - including a 13,000 square foot ballroom, 28,000 square foot exhibit hall and a 4,190 square foot outdoor deck overlooking the city. The property also features two full-service dining concepts, a lobby bar, indoor rooftop swimming pool and business center.
Additionally, the Crowne Plaza Springfield's sister property - the Holiday Inn Express - unveiled a combination of fresh, dynamic and focused design features that enables an efficient and engaging stay. The guest room provides a revitalized, contemporary space with comforts and features with functional and flexible work space, allowing for maximum productivity. The property also includes a multipurpose lobby complete with Express brand's Express Start breakfast bar, dining area and additional seating areas.
