The Collective in Mount Prospect plans open house

The Collective, at 13 E. Prospect Ave., is hosting an open house from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.

The owner of the new retailer says it is a one-stop shop filled with an array of gifts. The business believes in the "shop small, shop local" mentality. This business is a collaborative effort between local artists who say shoppers can find fun and unique gifts for everyone on your list. Featured products include hand carved woodwork, jewelry, refinished furniture, painted canvas and ceramic tile art, greeting cards, loose leaf teas, home goods/decór, unique gift items and more.

"We are so excited to see what these holidays and 2018 have in store for Mount Prospect. The future of our downtown is so promising, and our vendors and I wanted to be a part of that," said Owner Kaitlin Skye Collins. "Our shoppe is focused on promoting art and community to Mount Prospect, we want to be a real player in the community and help bring people together through the joy of art, handcrafted products, and community focused events while reminding our customers to shop local," she said.
