An interview with Lawrence Inzano, executive chef and owner of La Cuisine Catering and Special Events in Downers Grove.

Q: Tell us a little bit about the venue/business.

A: La Cuisine Catering has provided distinctive cuisine and exceptional service for corporate and social clients throughout the Chicagoland area.

We started with events almost exclusively within the social community, but soon expanded to handle corporate meetings, company picnics, galas, wedding receptions, social gatherings of all types. La Cuisine's team is well trained, dependable and professional.

We have catered events in a variety of venues, including hotels, museums, historic locations, and some of the area's most beautiful society homes.

Q: Explain the history. How did the business get started?

A: The company was started by Larry and Linda Inzano with extensive experience working together for an international hotel corporation.

With a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality industry, Larry as an executive chef and Linda as the director of special events, they took advantage of a great opportunity and together founded La Cuisine Catering Company in 1982.

For more than 36 years our philosophy has been to provide our clients with the highest standards for exceptional food and service.

Q: What do you offer when it comes to corporate meetings?

A: We make planning your corporate lunch or gathering creative, seamless, and energetic with epic cuisine and outstanding service.

From gourmet box lunch, cocktail parties, and seated dinners. Businesses have entrusted their biggest, most important events to us for decades.

A: Food is our passion, quality is our mission, and our professionalism reflects the mood around each event. A sense of camaraderie and tradition peppered with constant enthusiasm for impeccable flavor and taste.

Q: What are people in your industry talking about? What's trending?

A: Healthy menus are what's in right now.

Plan your menu around high-protein, low-fat meats such as turkey, chicken, salmon or Omega-3-loaded fish (which have been proven to boost mental health); superfoods, such as kale and avocados; and whole grains. Our Cuisine To-Go does just that offering healthy grab-and-go meals so your employees can get back to work quickly.

Q: Tell us a little about yourself. What is your past experience in the industry?

A: After graduation from the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Inzano traveled to the Far East and most of Europe collecting recipes, researching foods and learning the culture.

He was executive chef in the hotel industry for over ten years in places including New York, Chicago, and Hawaii.

In 1982 he and Linda Inzano founded La Cuisine Catering Company. Since then there has never been any looking back. We now take pride on being the most innovative and cutting edge catering company when it comes to catering and hospitality trends.

Q: Tell us one interesting fact about the business that most people may not know.

A: Our team is comprised of passionate hospitality professionals and outstanding trained chefs that constantly wow our clients with their professionalism and dedication.
