LinkedIn learning session planned

David O'Brien, global director of human resources for HydraForce in Lincolnshire, is hosting a seminar, "LinkedIn - Getting Started."

The session takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Career Resource Center, 40 E. Old Mill Road, Suite 105 in Lake Forest.

He said LinkedIn is used not only by jobseekers but by recruiters and employers seeking candidates for positions as well. He will address how to get started using this powerful tool. This presentation will cover the important elements of building your profile, how to connect with others, and getting noticed.

O'Brien is responsible for leading the Lake County HR organization that supports about 1,500 employees across the business. HydraForce is a private, global manufacturer of hydraulic equipment with manufacturing locations in Lincolnshire; Changzhou, China; Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Birmingham, England.

He has accumulated over 25 year of experience in all aspects of human resources, with a deep specialty in organizational development, talent management, recruiting and leadership development He received his BA in economics from DePauw and MS in human resource management from Purdue University - Krannert School of Management.
