Allstate catastrophe losses in February top $150M

NORTHBROOK - Allstate Corp. said estimated catastrophe losses for the month of February 2019 were $151 million.

Pretax catastrophe losses occurring in February comprised 10 events at an estimated cost of $140 million, with the addition of negative reserve re-estimates of prior period catastrophe losses.

One wind event, primarily affecting Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, accounted for approximately 60 percent of the month's catastrophe losses, the company said in a release.

Estimated pretax catastrophe losses for January and February 2019 totaled $299 million.
