Edward-Elmhurst named a top health system
NAPERVILLE - Edward-Elmhurst Health has been named one of the nation's 15 Top Health Systems by IBM Watson Health. Edward-Elmhurst was one of five systems recognized in the Medium Health Systems category. The study spotlights the best-performing health systems in the U.S., based on a balanced scorecard of publicly available clinical, operational and patient satisfaction metrics and data.
Edward-Elmhurst Health is a 721-bed system that includes Edward Hospital in Naperville, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health on the Edward Hospital campus, and an ambulatory care network that provides comprehensive health care to residents of the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Edward-Elmhurst is only the third Illinois health system to be recognized as a 15 Top Health System since the program began in 2008.
This year's 15 Top Health Systems study evaluated 337 health systems and 2,961 member hospitals to identify the 15 U.S. health systems with the highest overall achievement on a balanced scorecard that focuses on five areas of performance: inpatient outcomes, process of care, extended outcomes, efficiency and patient experience.
"We are proud, honored and humbled to be recognized as a 15 Top Health System," says Mary Lou Mastro, System CEO, Edward-Elmhurst Health. "It's a credit to our nurses, doctors and staff who've worked together to achieve an honor that says we're delivering on our mission to provide safe, seamless and personal care."
