Scheidt rejoins Ice Miller's Employee Benefits Group

Ice Miller LLP welcomes partner Kathleen Sheil Scheidt back to the firm's Employee Benefits Group.

Scheidt has extensive experience counseling public, private and not-for-profit employers in all aspects of employee benefits and executive compensation. She joins recent addition Gary Blachman, also a partner in the firm's Employee Benefits Group.

Before rejoining Ice Miller, Scheidt served as the lead employee benefits and executive compensation attorney for a publicly traded global biopharmaceutical company. She advised and worked with colleagues throughout the company on a broad range of legal and strategic matters involving the company's total rewards programs and executive compensation arrangements.

Before moving to an in-house counsel role, Kathleen gained employee benefits and executive compensation experience as a law firm partner and associate. She began her legal career as an Ice Miller summer associate and then joined the firm as an associate in the Employee Benefits Group.

Scheidt and Blachman further expand Ice Miller's capabilities in addressing employers' benefit challenges in a time of historically low unemployment, health care uncertainty, market volatility and an aging workforce. Working with clients throughout the country, the group is comprised of attorneys who advise companies, governments, churches and plan trustees on how to handle retirement plans, health plans, compensation packages, equity plans and other benefit programs.

"We are thrilled to have Kathleen back at Ice Miller," said Steve Humke, chief managing partner. "Her time in corporate practice combined with her law firm experience provides a broad perspective and deep understanding of what our clients face on a daily basis."
