CLC's student restaurant to join Lake County Restaurant Week

GRAYSLAKE - College of Lake County's student-run Prairie restaurant will participate in Lake County Restaurant Week, Friday, Feb. 28 through Thursday, March 8.

This is the first year CLC will be part of this annual event.

In addition to the Latin American cuisine for lunch Friday, Feb. 28 and contemporary breakfast Monday, March 2, the restaurant will offer the prix fixe lunch menu Thursday, March 5 featuring: a first course of Salad Lyonnais with a poached egg on a bed of frisee with bacon, onions, caper berries and tossed in champagne vinaigrette; a second course of pan-seared Hudson valley duck breast with whipped truffle potatoes, asparagus and topped with cherry port sauce; classic Creme Brulee for the third course.

Located on the Grayslake Campus' Lower Level A, Prairie serves breakfast and lunch certain days of the week during the semester.

It is operated by students in CLC's hospitality and culinary management program.

Prairie is one of more than 75 restaurants in 24 communities participate in Visit Lake County's annual Lake County Restaurant Week.
