Des Plaines company awarded $9 million in tollway work
DES PLAINES - The Lorig Construction Co. has received two contracts from the Illinois Tollway for roadwork totaling more than $9 million.
The Des Plaines-based company received a $4.8 million contract for the replacement of the Windsor Drive Bridge over two ramps connecting the Reagan Memorial Tollway, I-88, to the Tri-State Tollway, I-294. Lorig also received a $4.3 million contract for noise abatement wall construction on the Tri-State Tollway between the O'Hare Oasis and Irving Park Road.
The work was among four construction contracts approved totaling $11.2 million at the Illinois Tollway board of directors' October meeting. Nearly $1.2 billion in contracts has been approved by the tollway board in 2020, as part of the ninth year of its 15-year, $14 billion Move Illinois capital program.
"Investments in our regional economy are needed now more than ever, which is why, despite these challenges, we are staying the course on our capital investments this year," said Illinois Tollway Executive Director José Alvarez.
