105-year-old Carol Stream resident receives vaccine

CAROL STREAM - Belmont Village Senior Living in Carol Stream said it began administering coronavirus vaccines to residents Monday, with the first being 105-year-old World War II veteran, David Hilgenberg, "a courageous, COVID-19 survivor who has lived through both the pandemics of 1918 and 2019," the company said in a news release.

The facility, 545 Belmont Lane, began administering vaccines after a successful vaccine clinic at Belmont Village Lincoln Park in Chicago, with 100% participation from residents, the company said. The vaccine rollout will continue at Belmont Vilage's Oak Park community on Jan. 21.

"As we begin to roll out the highly anticipated, priority vaccinations of our Chicagoland communities, we have seen an overwhelming excitement and eagerness to receive it from all residents and staff," said Patricia Will, founder and CEO of Belmont Village.
