Gurnee board to review Cooper's Hawk proposal April 12

The Gurnee Village Board next week will review a proposal to build a Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant on a new outlot near the former Lowe's home improvement store at 7735 Grand Ave.

If approved, construction would begin by the end of 2022, and the restaurant and winery would open by fall 2023.

Cooper's Hawk would be joining the College of Lake County, which is transforming the former Lowe's building into Lake County's first Advanced Technology Center. The ATC will offer expanded programming in automation, robotics and mechatronics, computer numerical control, and welding.

The public hearing to review the restaurant plan is set for 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 12. at Gurnee Village Hall, 325 N. O'Plaine Road. Video from the hearing will be posted following the meeting to the village's YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/villageofgurnee.
